It’s amazing what someone can do with matte board and handcut ledgers. (via)
A new-to-me blog dedicated to letter writing and other postal goodness. From their mission statement:
In this era of instantaneous communication, a handwritten letter is a rare and wondrous item. The Letter Writers Alliance is dedicated to preserving this art form. Prepare your pen and paper, moisten your tongue, and get ready to write more letters!
Hear, hear!
Once my birthday is out of the way, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. I haven’t done much in the celebration department for the past two years for obvious reasons, but I’m thinking that it’s time to embrace the season again. And I might start that embrace by ordering and then making one of the ornament sets featured in this blog post. My favourite is Walk in the Woods. I mean there’s a tree with sequins. I love each of those separately with the heat of several suns, but, together? Together they may make my head explode.
So much pretty in a single post.
I had forgotten how much I like Lisa Solomon’s work. I especially loved her over the river and through the woods installation from a couple of years ago for many different reasons, many of which are cloaked in much former-grad-student speak. Those of you who know me can probably figure these reasons out.
And now you can make your very own Lisa Solomon installation at home with these doily decals. *swoon* (via)
